Description

We are currently seeking a Support Pedagogue for the Smörkärnegatan group home!

The Smörkärnegatan group home is located in Kallebäck and is a residence with special support and services according to the LSS Act. The target group consists of individuals with physical and mental disabilities. Smörkärnegatan comprises 7 apartments and common areas. The work team at the residence consists, in addition to you, of 12 support assistants. Together, you are responsible for planning and developing the operations and providing practical, personal, and pedagogical support in daily life. The work also includes medication management.

As a Support Pedagogue with us, you will be part of a team of engaged support assistants whose common mission is to contribute to a meaningful life with support in daily routines, support for activities, and maintaining social contacts. You will support the support assistants in the operations with methods, routines, and social documentation, and contribute to maintaining the structure of the operations. You will also guide and reflect on issues regarding treatment and approach. You will be a support in the work of developing individually adapted methods to promote participation and independence.

In your role as a Support Pedagogue, you will work with quality follow-up and quality development within the operations. You will also be part of a network within the area with other support pedagogues and have method developers as support in the work with quality and methods. You will be the one ensuring that structure and tasks continue smoothly as you work during the day and based on the needs of the operations. The operations run 24/7, and we base our working hours on the needs of the tenants, revising them accordingly.

Working hours are scheduled during the day, Monday to Friday. The position is based on a full-time measure of 40.00 hours.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with education as a Support Pedagogue or alternatively a post-secondary specialization in the disability field comprising at least 200 vocational college credits, 120 university credits, or a combination equivalent to at least four semesters of full-time studies. Alternatively, 60 university credits and at least two years of experience working with support and services for people with disabilities. The education must include relevant credits in behavioral science, pedagogy, psychology, social work, and (psychiatric) nursing.

Communication is an important part of the work, which requires that you have passed Swedish 1 or Swedish as a second language 1. If you do not meet the qualification requirements in Swedish 1 or Swedish as a second language 1, you may be offered to take a language test through the test user Educateit. You also need basic computer skills for the position.

It is a requirement that you have previously worked with the target group of psychiatry in combination with physical disability – for example, acquired brain injury, schizophrenia, psychotic disorders, and bipolar disorder. It is an advantage if you have knowledge or experience of work methods such as MI (Motivational Interviewing), AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication), ESL (Independent Living), and LAB (Low-Affective Approach). It is also an advantage if you have a driver's license, experience in nursing, and assistive devices.

As a person, you take responsibility for both your own and shared tasks with a focus on the best interests of the operations. Tasks are carried out carefully, followed up, and driven forward with engagement and initiative, both independently and in collaboration with others.

You collaborate well by listening, showing respect, and contributing to the common mission. Work is planned, organized, and prioritized efficiently to ensure results on time.

For you, it is important to be able to see the big picture and understand how your own work affects and is affected by the organization as a whole. You collaborate on overarching issues, weigh different perspectives, and adapt ideas to the needs of the operations.
